We will be covering the topic of population on the midterms exams. The handout I gave you on Friday and the following questions are to make you think a little about the topic before the listening and reading exams.
Why is world population an important topic today?
What is the population in your country? Is it stable, growing or declining? What are the reasons for this?
Has any change in population in your country affected the way people live?
as far as i'm concerned, there're too much people living on the mother earth right now. limited resourse is not enough for our next or even this generation, hundreds of thousands of people suffering hunger, thirst,homless, disasters...especially those who live in developing countries. moreover, when people have no place to live, then they would destroy the forests, grasslands.... where do the animals and the other creatures live. the resourses are running out, and if our population still growing like this fast, then the end of world will come soon.
ReplyDeletechinese population is more than 1.6billion right now, which is the largest in the world. even though we have one-child policy, our population is still growing. however, largely is because we have the largest populationbase.
our country has changed a lot since the one-child policy came on. every only child is treated like pearl by his or her parents, which leads to a consequence that seldom of them is independent enough to take care of their ownself. moreover, large population can wosen the problem of extreme disparity between the rich and the poor, which is really severe in china, and other social problems.

ReplyDelete1- world population is important because everyday the population is growing and till the moment we can't control it, which might cause many negative consequences such as hunger. so we better control the population by putting laws to reduce the number of growing.
ReplyDelete2- The population in saudi Arabia is 27,123,977 based on the last statistics by saudi government, and the number is growing every year. thats because we dont have any rule that prevents us .
3- in fact, till now there is no problem with the population in my country everyone lives normal life without any problem, but we dont know what is going to happen in the future!
Population is a kind of using the resource, if there are too many people on this world, there will be less resource for sure, and if there is less people on the world, there will be no develop in the human social.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, the population in China, maybe between 1.37billion to 1.46billion. the number will keep growing steadly, because China is still a developing country, there is a big difference between west and east. In the west, people still believe more people can cause great energy to grow crops. And most people in the east are busy in their work, so they don't have enough time to take care a baby, so many of them don't want to have a baby. However, the people in the west can give birth to 2-3 children even under the one-child-policy. So that why I think the population in China will still growing.
One-child-policy made the parents focus on their only child, so the child have a great love with prents, that cause the child lose the ability to live alone. That is what will change in the generouions
the population is really improtant things in every countries. if the population still increasing, there won't have enough resource for everyone and it also will cause many problems.such as HIV and AIDS. there also won't have enough job opptunity, people cannot raise there family. it will cause many problems to this society. people's life tend to very hard.
ReplyDeletethe population in China is till increasing because China is developing country.now, it is 1.6 billion. some of peole who living in the countryside still think there will be more benefits if they have more children.
in my opinion if people think about the life in the future, they won't want to have more children. because if you have more children you will consider their edcation level and life environment. the parents life won't be easier.
Population has already becomed a serious problem in our life.We only have a earth and finite resoures to be used.Moreover,poplulation booming also will cause many problems,such as hunger,crimes.It is really significant that We should control the population growth.

Yes ,population is very important for us and our plant,because the world resouce is limited,we should protect the earth.Like the aticle said ,our palnt only can support about 8 bullion people. In my country china, there are huge population,1.6 bullion it mean 1/5people who are chinese in the world . but recently , chinese population are declining, because china government set laws to decrese the birth rate, in a family only can born a baby, if u have two ur family should pay a lot of many, even the parents lost their jobs. In my hometown , there are many people, wehn i by the bus of public transtation i never had a sit. even the texi spend ur long time. i hope in the future , human can contorl the birth rate and build nice wolrd.
ReplyDeleteabsolutelt, world population has became one of the most serious topics in the world. no matter how smart human is, we are still part of this world. as result, we have to follow the rule of this surviving game. we have to to keep ballence in this world. if the ballence were broke, we, humanbeings would repeat the history of dinosours!there are 2 main problems of world population.one is for developed world, some developed countries have to face the problem that their born rate are lower. the other is too much people in developing world. for example, my country, China, has the most large population in the world, which is more than 1.3 billion. in old time, we belived that we will be more powerful if we have more people. as result, our population is keep growing. because that large number of population, it is hard for Chinese governmrnt to feed its people. what's more, growing population also caused poverty and unemployment. in conclusion, we have to find a way to solve this problem!

ReplyDeleteChina is a developing country, so the population in china is huge. but chinese goverment can handle it, the economy of china keep going up, and the young people can have good education before they step into the society. and also, chinese goverment set up the law that one family only can have one child, this law is benifit to decline the growth population.
of course, the growth populaiton caused the price of house become higher and higher. citizens prefer to live in the coutryside.
Population is the important topic in all over the world read now, because it cause a lot of problems for our environment and economic. Our plant has limit for life to be survive. Now, there are about six billion people live in the earth. This population number is already out of the limit. Especially we are continuing take recourse that could destroy our environment. Also, with more people was born, more and more people couldn’t find a job.
ReplyDeleteChina is the largest population country in the world. Now we already have 1.6 billion people and the number still growing. Even though we had the one child policy to cut down the birth rate, but because our population basic number is too large, so the growing is continue fast.
Since 1980’s, Chinese people allow have one child each family. That changed some people live. We still have agreement about one child is a good thing or bed thing. But we all agree, one child policy has benefit on our population.
